Most of the time, when I think of the cuckoo bird, I tend to think of the cuckoo clock. I had never really thought of the clock imitating a real bird. However, lately, during my morning walks around the track on my campus, I’ve been hearing a “cuck-oo, cuck-oo” sound coming from the trees. I asked some friends about it and they told me it was the “du4 juan1″ (杜鹃) and describe its sound as “boo-koo.”
