I live in the Piedmont of NC; it’s currently late November. A couple of nights during this month I heard a “cuckoo” (not a clock.) Does anyone know what bird or animal would make this sound? Does NC have cuckoo birds?
I live in the Piedmont of NC; it’s currently late November. A couple of nights during this month I heard a “cuckoo” (not a clock.) Does anyone know what bird or animal would make this sound? Does NC have cuckoo birds? — (addendum) The sound of the bird is like a cuckoo of the cuckoo clock (cuck - koo cuck-koo). It’s definitely not the great horned owl. The suspected cuckoo sounds linked by Cris don’t match either.
